Trident Medical Center has named Maury Baker as its new Chief Operating Officer. He will start October 29, 2024. Baker joins Trident from sister Trident Health hospital, Summerville Medical Center, where he served as the hospital’s Chief Operating Officer.

His familiarity with Trident Health is a tremendous benefit to us as we prepare to embark on an unprecedented period of growth for our health system, which next year will celebrate its 50th anniversary of service to Lowcountry families.”
Trident Health includes two acute care hospitals – 302-bed Trident Medical Center and 124-bed Summerville Medical Center; 60-bed Live Oak Mental Health & Wellness; and four freestanding ERs – Brighton Park Emergency, Centre Pointe Emergency, James Island ER, and Moncks Corner Medical Center. Trident Health has also announced plans to build a freestanding ER and a hospital on Johns Island, SC.
Healthgrades, a national healthcare ratings agency that reviews data from more than 4,000 hospitals, named Trident Medical Center and Summerville Medical Center as recipients of its America’s 250 Best Hospitals award for two consecutive years and this year the hospitals were named among The Fortune/PINC AL 50 Top Cardiovascular Hospitals.
