Leadership Charleston
This great program is our longest running professional development program. Running for over 45 years, the proof is in the past participants that have gone on to make a difference. Alumni of Leadership Charleston include elected officials, c-suite executives, military personnel, philanthropists, entrepreneurs and others that strive to make a difference in the place we call home.
Why are the participants in this program so diverse? This professional development program offers an experience-based opportunity to dive into our region’s largest issues and is where the insight that you gain will help make a difference in our community. This year-long program consists of monthly one-day sessions that are focused on a facet of the community. This includes a visit to the South Carolina State House to visit with elected leaders about the work they are doing, exploring Joint Base Charleston and learning about their large economic impact, joining local law enforcement on a tour through the jail and participating in a ride along to learn from those on the frontlines just to name a few.
Leadership Charleston Quick Facts
Time period – This is a year-long program that begins in September and runs until July. Each month, there will be a day-long session that you are expected to be a part of.
Price – Tuition for this program is $3,200 for participants employed by Chamber member companies.
What you will get out of it – The opportunity to develop deep relationships with a network of diverse colleagues and gain valuable insight into the most challenging issues facing our region.

Leadership Discovery
Leadership Discovery is all about you and what you want to get out of it. In this mentor-based program, you get the opportunity to hear from six powerful leaders that are willing to speak candidly to you and an intimate group of fellow professionals about the good and not so good parts of their journey.
This program is powerful and opens your eyes to many different leadership styles that are present in our workforce. Who do you want to be as a leader? How do you want to be remembered? We can assure you that you will have a better answer to these questions once you have completed this 3-month program.
This great program also includes a personal DiSC assessment and a 3-course business etiquette dinner. And…great news! This skills-based leadership program is currently accepting applications for the Spring class of 2023.
Quick Facts about Leadership Discovery
Time period – This is a 3-month program that includes mentor sessions with each of the leaders. There are two sessions per year (Spring and Fall). The Spring session typically runs from May to July and the Fall session typically runs from September to December.
Price – There is a $850 fee to participate and includes the mentor sessions, a personal DiSC assessment and a 3-course business etiquette dinner.
What you will get out of it – A better understanding of your strengths/weaknesses through the DiSC assessment, an idea of the variety of leadership styles out there and who you want to be as a leader.
