Charleston, SC – The Charleston Chamber Foundation, through the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce, has been awarded a $100,000 grant from the Truist Charitable Fund to support the development of a People First Regional Scorecard. This significant investment will enable the Chamber to measure the critical issues impacting the region’s economic mobility and quality of life.
“Through our Charitable Fund, Truist is proud to support the Chamber’s bold People First initiative, which we believe addresses our region’s most critical issues using the Scorecard to track progress in each of the pillars,” said Mark Lattanzio, Coastal Market President for Truist.
The Chamber’s People First initiative is a collaborative, community-focused and data-led movement developed through visioning sessions with community leaders with the aim of generating viable outcomes to ensure everyone in our region has the opportunity to thrive. People First is focused on four key pillars:
The People First Regional Scorecard will serve as a powerful tool for benchmarking and tracking progress, identifying opportunities and mobilizing action. By collecting and analyzing critical data, the Scorecard will provide a clear picture of the region’s challenges and strengths. This data-driven approach will empower the Chamber, community leaders, policymakers and businesses to make informed decisions and implement effective solutions.
“We are incredibly grateful for the ongoing support from Truist, which will allow us to take a significant step forward in our efforts to improve the lives of our region’s employees,” said Bryan Derreberry, President and CEO at the Charleston Metro Chamber. “The People First Regional Scorecard will be a vital resource for our community, helping us to track progress and identify opportunities and gaps.”
The Scorecard will be developed in collaboration with a team of experts, including data analysts, community leaders and subject matter experts. The Scorecard will be accessible to the public and will be updated regularly to reflect the latest data and trends.
The Chamber invites community members to join the People First movement and help shape the legacy of the Charleston region. For more information or to get involved, please visit ShapeTheLegacy.org.
