Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce Welcomes Kevin T. Sheilley as New President & CEO

The Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to announce that Kevin T. Sheilley has officially assumed the role of President and CEO. With a distinguished career spanning over two decades in chamber leadership and economic development, Kevin brings a wealth of experience and a forward-thinking vision to the Charleston region.

Prior to joining the Charleston Metro Chamber, Kevin served for more than 12 years as President & CEO of the Ocala Metro Chamber & Economic Partnership (CEP) in Ocala, Florida. Under his leadership, the CEP achieved significant milestones, including being recognized as Chamber of the Year by the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE) in 2020.

“The Charleston Metro Chamber is excited to begin this new chapter with Kevin at the helm,” said Elizabeth Burwell, Chamber Board Chair and Senior Vice President at Southern First Bank. “His leadership and vision will be invaluable as we continue to champion the Charleston region’s business community.”

Kevin’s extensive experience includes launching the Lake Economic Area Development Partnership (LEAD Partnership) and serving as President & CEO of economic development organizations in Kentucky and Tennessee. He is a Certified Chamber Executive (CCE) and has received numerous accolades, including the Florida Chamber Executive of the Year award.

“I am delighted to join the Charleston Metro Chamber and become a part of this incredible community. I am passionate about the role that business plays in shaping our region’s future, and I am committed to working tirelessly to support our members and drive positive change,” said Kevin Sheilley. “I look forward to building strong relationships with our partners and stakeholders as we work together to make Charleston an even better place to live, work and grow.”

As the Chamber embarks on this new chapter, Kevin, alongside Board Chair Elizabeth Burwell, will focus on strategic initiatives such as the People First movement, which aims to develop long-term economic mobility and quality of life solutions for all residents within the region. This initiative centers around attainable housing, future-ready education, multi-faceted regional transit and affordable, high-quality childcare.

The Charleston Metro Chamber is excited for the future under Kevin’s leadership and confident that his vision and expertise will drive great progress, innovation and opportunity in the Charleston region. Together, we will continue to foster collaboration, empower businesses and shape a thriving, prosperous community for years to come.

Community members will have the opportunity to hear from and meet Kevin at the Chamber’s upcoming Impact event on February 26 at the Segra Club.
