Chamber Hiring Member Relations Coordinator

The Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce serves as our region’s collective voice to drive solutions for our thriving community. JOB SUMMARY

We are now hiring a Member Relations Coordinator that reports directly to the Senior Vice President of Membership & Corporate Partnerships. The Member Relations Coordinator will be responsible for execution and support of all things member retention. The position will address retention, and effective roster buildout, across various stages of investment level. This position will serve as the primary relationship manager with longstanding-non leadership circle members (among others).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with assigned book of business. Serve as the primary point of contact for all members in assigned book of business and work to engage each member company based on their business priorities and Chamber platforms. Mapping these priorities to our work will be key to retention
  • Membership team lead for CRM database, Growthzone
  • Assist membership team with data management and entry for Growthzone
  • Secure annual membership commitments from assigned book of business.
  • Assist sales team with activities focused on new member engagement and retention.
  • Work in collaboration with finance team for all monthly renewal correspondence and oversee, manage, and execute the monthly renewal mailing (printed) & emailing for all members, across all tiers (in collaboration with Finance and Executive office).
  • Engage with other divisions and staff members as needed with a focus on membership retention.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned and in support of the overall mission of the Chamber and Membership Division
  • Manage the Chamber’s new member orientation program, Chamber 360. The coordinator will be responsible for the design, implementation, and messaging (in collaboration with marketing team and the SVP of Membership) of the Chamber’s orientation and onboarding experience.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATION

  • Must maintain the ability to pass a criminal background check
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license, and/or access to reliable transportation, and automobile insurance acceptable to the Chambers liability insurance provider.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in any field
  • Minimum of 2 years in a customer relations/retention related field required
  • Preferred experience working for a membership based organization
  • Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed monthly goals
  • Strong organizational skills, project management and critical thinking with the ability to maintain attention to detail.
  • Knowledge and ability to work in a CRM database and Microsoft Office
  • Self-motivated and team oriented
  • Ability to embrace change and respond to daily situations that arise
