The Honors 2025 was a night to remember, shining a spotlight on the outstanding individuals and businesses shaping our region. Hosted at the historic Dock Street Theatre, the ceremony brought together leaders, visionaries and community partners to celebrate the impact of our business community.
The evening featured an unforgettable start with a VIP reception, welcoming award recipients, who were toasted by Roper St. Francis Healthcare’s President and CEO, Joseph DeLeon.
As attendees took their seats and the ceremony began, the evening kicked off with a performance by the AcaBelles, College of Charleston’s all-female a cappella group, who captivated the audience with stunning renditions of Billie Eilish’s Birds of a Feather and Lorde’s Team. Later, Cameron & the Saltwater Brass brought infectious energy to the room, weaving through the crowd with a lively brass band performance that had everyone engaged.
A key highlight of the evening was the recognition of The Honors recipients. Attendees watched inspiring acceptance videos showcasing the significant contributions of these honorees to our region’s growth and success. Their dedication and innovation continue to make a lasting impact on our community.
The ceremony culminated in the prestigious presentation of the Joseph P. Riley Leadership Award to John C. L. Darby, CEO & Chairman of The BeachCompany. John received a heartfelt introduction from Elliot Summey, Executive Director & CEO of the Charleston County Aviation Authority and Keith Summey, former longtime mayor of the City of North Charleston. Their words highlighted John’s leadership, vision and profound influence on the Charleston region.
Following the ceremony, guests transitioned to the theater’s courtyard for an elegant reception, offering valuable opportunities for connection. Attendees enjoyed hors d’oeuvres and drinks provided by Rosemary & Rye, extending the evening’s celebration under the Charleston night sky.
The Honors is one of the Chamber’s signature events, and it is always an incredible opportunity to showcase the work and dedication of our members. Their contributions are the driving force behind the growth and success of our business community and the Chamber itself.
