For over 30 years, the Economic Outlook Conference, presented by South Carolina Federal Credit Union, has stood as a premier gathering of industry experts, economists and business leaders as we delve into the latest insights and projections shaping our region’s economy. As we navigate an evolving economic landscape, this year’s conference will provide a nationwide economic update with specific insight into the labor market and skills gap.

Featured Speakers:

Dr. Tatiana Bailey, Keynote Speaker
Dr. Bailey is Founder and Executive Director of Data-Driven Economic Strategies, which focuses on rigorous, unbiased monthly economic reporting and workforce development initiatives, particularly for underserved communities. In the economic development field, Dr. Bailey presents nationwide on the current national, state and local economies. She also participates in various economic development initiatives and has particularly focused on closing the skills gap. She serves as an economic development resource to both businesses and government and is an appointee to the governor’s council of economists and the Pikes Peak State College Advisory Council.

Dr. Mark Witte
Dr. Witte is a distinguished Professor of Economics at the College of Charleston’s School of Business. He has led the regional forecast for our Economic Outlook Conference for the past several years.

Presentation Overview:
Dr. Witte will kick off the conference with a recap of the last 12 months. He’ll then delve into the regional forecast for 2025, offering his unparalleled insights and projections.

Dr. Bailey will serve as our keynote speaker, providing a presentation that will include a national economic update with a focus on the labor market and skills gap.
