Advocating for a Thriving Community

Thriving communities don’t just happen. Rather, they are the result of smart planning, collaboration and dedication to driving solutions.

The Chamber’s Government Relations team works tirelessly to inform the community and our members about current issues, give access to elected leaders in our community and advocate for our region’s business community - all so the collective voice of regional businesses are heard. Our team advocates at the local, state and federal levels and takes a proactive and collaborative approach to tackling our region's greatest challenges.

How We Inform

Keeping our members informed about the key issues facing our region

Our Government Relations team works hard to answer, "How does this impact me?"

Truth is, whether directly or indirectly, decisions that are made at the local, state and federal levels all have an impact on you. Each week, we send The Advocates, a weekly email that breaks down the current issues at all levels of government to help you understand the status of current bills and help you make informed decisions for your business. No political swaying here – just factual updates about what is affecting you and your business the most.

Stay up to date with all things Government Relations and sign-up to receive our Advocates update.

How We Give Access to Electeds

Providing our members with access to the region’s political and influential leaders

We work hard to develop relationships throughout our region, and beyond, to ensure we are giving our members the most up-to-date and accurate information.

This includes:

  • An annual Legislative Reception event that occurs at the beginning of each legislative session and includes more than 400 elected officials and business leaders
  • The Chamber's ACCESS event series that features an elected official or panel and occurs multiple times throughout the year
  • A variety of ways to have your voice heard and a seat at the table
